Committees & Events
- Annual Dinner. This committee focuses on
preparation for the Chamber's annual formal event. Members work to plan
the evening's location, menu and guest speaker, and also to organize
sponsors. This event is typically held in: October.
- Chocolate Jubilee. A Chocolate Dessert event held in
June. We feature local restaurants/bakeries to showcase their desserts.
- Car Cruise-In. The annual "Car Cruise-In
Street Spectacular" on Jefferson Avenue in Moundsville is organized by
this group. They prepare every aspect of the show from prizes and sponsors
to the car entries and music. The show is currently the second largest in
the Ohio Valley. This event is typically held in: June.
- Christmas Parade. The parade committee
organizes all stages of the annual Marshall County Christmas Parade.
Members work with the City, gather donations and sponsorships and obtain
parade participants. This event is typically held in:
November.
- Christmas Tree Gala. This Committee finds
businesses, organizations and individuals to purchase and decorate
Christmas trees. Once completed, the committee places the trees on
display, and organizes entertainment for area residents to enjoy while
viewing them. The trees are later auctioned off with proceeds going to the
Make-a-Wish foundation of Northern West Virginia and future Marshall
County Chamber projects. This event is typically held in:
November.
- Economic Development. This committee works
closely with the County Commission, local municipalities and OVIBDC to
explore opportunities to develop land and / or buildings for industrial,
retail or residential growth within Marshall County.
- Education. The mission of this committee is
to enhance the employability of Marshall County Students for local and
global employment by supporting the legislative school system, as well as
the goals of the Chamber.
- Golf Scramble. The Marshall County Chamber
of Commerce Golf Scramble is a favorite with many members. The event is
held annually at the Moundsville Country Club, and consists of an array of
food and prizes. Area businesses and individuals come together for a
relaxing round of golf, to support the Chamber and for a chance at a new
car! This event is typically held in: May
- Legislative. This committee focuses on
gaining insight into important legislative issues in order to take a
position and better represent the membership and the community.

- Summer Events. The summer events committee
prepares all of the amenities for the annual "Summber Concert Series" held
at Riverfront Park in Moundsville. Bands are chosen and concessions
planned. Kroger has been the ongoing sponsor of this event, which has
lasted more than ten seasons! This event is typicaly held in:
June, July and August.
- Tourism. This committee is responsible for
generating ideas on marketing Marshall County and drawing tourists into
the area. They are also involved in the development of some of the
Chamber's major publications including the Marshall County Visitor's
Guide.
